2016 South Beach Wine & Food Festival Event Lineup Announced
The 2016 Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival Presented by Food & Wine will be back from February 24 to 28 for its 15th anniversary, and tickets have gone on sale for a full lineup of events, which were announced earlier this week.
While there are many returning favorites, a handful of new events are also being rolled out this year, like the Taste Fort Lauderdale Series. This series is made up of six brand new events, including Seaside Eats Hosted by Robert Irvine, Bloody Mary Brunch hosted by the cast of Chopped, and dinners hosted by Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos, Todd English, Marc Vetri, and Robert Curry. Other new events include Grilled Cheese Happy Hour hosted by Laura Werlin & Ms. Cheezious, Midnight Breakfast hosted by Chrissy Teigen & Fireman Derek, Dessert Party hosted by Duff Goldman, CroquetaMania hosted by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and a Like Water for Chocolate Screening & Conversation with Screenwriter Laura Esquivel.
"We are excited to unveil our event program for our 15th year," festival founder and director Lee Brian Schrager said in a press release. "With the introduction of the Festival's new Taste Fort Lauderdale Series and the 10th birthday of our iconic Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray, we're looking forward to celebrating with everyone."
The huge events held nightly under the main tent at the PMG North Venue are the festival's hottest tickets, and this year the Amstel Light Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons hosted by Rachael Ray (to be held on Friday night) will be joined on Thursday by Barilla's Italian Bites on the Beach hosted by Giada de Laurentiis, on Saturday by Meatopia presented by Creekstone Farms hosted by Michael Symon, and on Sunday with Lucky Chopsticks: An Asian Night Market hosted by Andrew Zimmern. Other returning favorites include the Goya Foods Grand Tasting Village, and this year's Tribute Dinner will honor Jonathan Waxman, Rob Sands, and Richard Sands with Master of Ceremonies Tom Colicchio.
As with every year, there are events for every taste and every budget, from the $20 Fun & Fit as a Family all the way up to a $1,500 dinner hosted by first-time participant chef Joel Robuchon, and everything in-between. So head on over to the website, have a look around, choose which events you want to attend, and buy your tickets before it's too late!
