Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 links turkey sausage
- 2 cup self-rising cornmeal mix
- 3 tablespoon self-rising flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- vegetable oil, for deep-frying
Directions
- Add butter to a skillet and cook the celery, onion, and sausage over medium-high heat. In a separate bowl, combine self-rising cornmeal and flour. In another bowl, combine milk with a lightly beaten egg. Mix vegetable mixture, cornmeal mixture, and buttermilk mixture together. Drop the batter, 1 fritter at a time, into 350 degrees vegetable oil. Fry until golden brown.
