Curtis Stone's L.A. Restaurant To Open By 2014
Australian Chef Curtis Stone has a lot on his plate. He's everywhere, as a guest host on "Today," co-hosting the Miss USA pageant or filming Bravo's "Top Chef Masters" and "Around the World in 80 Plates," and now he is coming to Los Angeles.
He plans to open his first Los Angeles restaurant in Beverly Hills, a tiny 30-seat eatery located at the old Pico Enetica space, by the end of 2013. Chef Stone began his cooking career in the kitchen of the Southern Cross Hotel and proceeded to cook at the five-star Savoy Park Plaza before heading to London and landing at Chef Marco Pierre White's Cafe Royal. He worked under Chef White for six years working up to head chef at Mirabelle and Quo Vadis. An agent spotted Stone and brought him back to Australia to film the show, "Surfing the Menu," with co-host Ben O'Donoghue. Both chefs got to travel around Australia, cook, and surf. Stone went on to start in the reality shows "My Restaurant Rules" and "Take Home Chef." He was named one of People magazine's "Sexiest Men Alive" in 2006 and was a contestant on Donald Trump's "The Celebrity Apprentice" in 2010.
