How To Bread Chicken
Set out three wide, shallow dishes. Fill the first dish with seasoned flour (a mix of 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper), the second dish with two eggs (whisked lightly with a fork), and the third with whatever you want to use to bread the chicken (think breadcrumbs, crushed cereal, or pretzels).
Dredge the Chicken in Seasoned Flour
Take your chicken and coat it in seasoned flour. Press the chicken into the flour mixture, making sure that all sides are coated. Then, shake off any excess flour.

Lastly, dip the chicken into the bowl of breading, making sure that all sides are covered as much as possible. Breadcrumbs are common (either Italian seasoned breadcrumbs for extra flavor or Panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch), but other options include unsweetened cereals (like rice puffs or corn flakes), crushed pretzels, and seeds. You can also add freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, dried herbs, or cornmeal to whatever you're using to bread your chicken.
