College students from seven different schools across the nation have started petitions to remove Chick-fil-A from their campuses.
James Castle, a law student at the University of Kansas, wrote, "Because Chick-fil-A's stance on gay rights could create a hostile environment for queer youth and allies, having a Chick-fil-A on campus deeply conflicts with the University of Kansas Mission on Values and the Chancellor's and Provost's personal commitments to diversity at KU."

Students are not the only people wanting to shut down Chick-fil-A; actress Rose McGowan tweeted Huffington Post's "Shut Down Chick-fil-A" story, and many other celebrities have vowed not to patronize the fast-food chicken chain.
When chef Anne Burrell was asked during an interview at The Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival how she felt about the controversy, she said, "I just won't eat there. Wherever I lie literally and figuratively, I think it is bad to discriminate. I hope they pull their heads out of their Chick-fil-A."
Andrew Zimmern, host of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods, shared a similar view during the festival, saying, "I am a huge Chick-fil-A fan, they have a great sandwich, but I choose not to spend my money anymore in a place that won't publically embrace people of all shapes, sizes, skin color, politics, sexual orientation, or whatever. I am very proud to have gay family members... it feels awkward to even use that word." He added, "I don't play volleyball, I do not ask people 'do you play volleyball?' before befriending them."

Chef Tyler Florence also shared a personal connection to the controversy Saturday during the festival, saying, "I believe in equal rights without a question. My younger brother is gay, [and] it is ridiculous for a company that sells things to completely divide a community."
Other celebrities have gone on record sharing their views, such as Cher, Ed Helms, Roseanne Barr, and Grant Gustin. It seems Chick-fil-A has created what is arguably the hottest food controversy of 2012, so far.
