Celebrate April Fool's Day With A ''Poisson D' Avril" Dinner
Sure, you could cover your co-worker's office in post-it notes, or saran-wrap your sister's shampoo bottles, but why not celebrate April Fool's Day with a delicious dinner at Gaby Brasserie Française in the Sofitel New York hotel, where they will be putting a spin on the traditional French "Poisson d'Avril" April Fool's prank, or the tradition of taping a picture of a fish to someone's back.
One diner at each table during the night of April Fool's will find a picture of a fish taped to their chair, and instead of being the butt of a joke (the French have an odd sense of humor), the lucky diner will receive a surprise like free cocktails, free appetizers, or a bottle of wine to share for the table. If you want to get in on more of the fun, the restaurant hints that guests should also tweet or post their favorite April Fool's Day pranks online using the hashtag #GabyAprilFools.
Gaby Brasserie will still be serving the normal seafood-heavy menu tomorrow night, which includes avocado and Maine lobster salad, seafood risotto, and a Serrano ham omelette.
