Beyoncé Becomes The New Face Of Pepsi (For $50 Million)
Pepsi already has its hands in the music business, what with Nicki Minaj and Michael Jackson featured in the brand's commercials — now, it's delving even further into the pop royalty business.
New reports show that Beyoncé, lover of Corona and Tecate and other beers while on the road, will now represent Pepsi in a new $50 million deal, reports The New York Times. "Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve," Beyoncé said in a statement. "As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity."
What can Beyoncé fans expect from the deal? The highly anticipated halftime Super Bowl show (sponsored by Pepsi), promotions for her new album (out in 2013), limited-edition Pepsi cans featuring Beyoncé's sparkling face, new Pepsi ads, and more. Some other projects, like videos and media blitzes, are also in the works. So keep sipping Pepsi, Beyoncé fans. (But we assume that People's Most Beautiful Woman doesn't keep her figure by chugging the soda.)
