Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe
Every one needs a good fried chicken recipe. This crispy chicken recipe starts with a simple brine (a salt solution that helps make the chicken extra juicy and flavorful). It requires a bit of advance planning since you have to leave the chicken in the brine over night, but it will be well worth the wait; the tender meat will be the perfect complement to the extra crispy chicken skin.
Then, the chicken is marinated in buttermilk, breaded with flour, and deep-fried in hot oil. Whether you're making fried chicken wings or a more traditional fried chicken recipe, this "brine, buttermilk, and bread" method will produce perfectly crispy fried chicken every time. If you're making oven fried chicken instead, you can still use this method although you'll want to bread your chicken with something coarse (like crushed crackers or panko bread crumbs) for extra crispy chicken.
