Best Bars To Watch College Football In DFW

College football is arguably one of the most important sports to Texans. Hollywood has known this for a while and even made some popular films about it. Because of this, when you're trying to catch a game in DFW, you don't want to go just anywhere. Whether you're looking for a fun environment with lots of big screens or a nicer bar with more serious sports fans as the patrons, these are some of the best options for watching college football in DFW.

Stan's Blue Note has been rated one of the top five bars to visit in Dallas. Established in 1952, it's also been around for a while so it has had time to get it right. This bar and grill is great for watching sports. The bar also features a jukebox, shuffleboard, pool tables and fenced-in patios. Of course, there is a big screen to watch the game on. Stan's offers over 100 types of bottled beers and more than 50 draughts so you are sure to find a nice beer to enjoy during the game.

Named Best Sports Bar in 2010, 1st and 10 is known for offering good food, friendly service and serious sports fans. The point burger and cottage fries are some of the favorite food offerings here. The televisions are obviously plentiful and the servers are friendly and attentive. Those are all great things, but what many people love most about this bar is that many of the patrons that come here are actually big sports fans so when a big game is on, that's where their attention is focused. It's a great bar for sports fans that don't need extra fuss and just want to watch the game.

The MAT takes sports very seriously. There are three 100″ screens surrounded by 30 other screens. The place is designed so that you can see the screen from pretty much any spot, so you won't have to miss the game just because it's packed (which it does tend to get for big games). Even when there isn't a big sporting event going on, the MAT always has something to entertain its patrons from karaoke to live music to trivia nights.

The Nodding Donkey has a very laid-back feel to it. The food that is served here is southern-style comfort food and you can get BBQ, Tex-Mex and your favorite comfort dishes. When you're looking to watch a game, it offers 17 flat screens that include three 70″ screens. It also has some great games that you can play with friends when you're not watching one on the big screen including corn hole, buck hunter, golden tee and giant Jenga. Valet parking is available every day after 3 p.m. so you never have to worry about finding a spot in the busy Uptown area.

Milo Butterfingers got its start in 1971 as a small honkey tonk-style bar. Live music could always be heard there. The building that Milo occupies today is an old building that was built back in 1942. Starting back in the 1980s, Milo Butterfingers became one of the favorite spots for students at SMU because it's right down the street. These days, Milo caters to all kinds of individuals from the sports fan (it has over 17 flat screens), to the late-night crowd to the patrons that have been going here for over 15 years. Signed sports memorabilia now covers the walls and changes with the seasons. Much of the staff has been working at Milo for over 15 years so when you go, it feels like home.
