Announcing The Great GoogaMooga Lineup
Today is a very exciting day in the development of the first ever Great GoogaMooga, a festival dedicated to food, drink, and music (in that order). The folks at Superfly, who are the organizers behind such festivals as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Surperfly during Jazzfest, are planning to turn Brooklyn's Prospect Park into the biggest food extravaganza the world has ever seen on May 19 and 20. After spending the last few months letting details and hints about the festival trickle down to the public, Superfly announced the lineup of food vendors participating in The Great GoogaMooga this morning.
The initial list includes 32 food vendors from New York City restaurants, food trucks, and bakeries — such as Vinegar Hill House, Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, Mile End, and The Spotted Pig. Superfly will continue to expand the list as they get more participants on board, so be sure to check the festival site often for updates.
With regards to the drink portion of this food and drink festival, Paul Grieco (the famed sommelier of Hearth, Terroir, and Summer Riesling) is spearheading the wine efforts by recruiting a team of top-notch sommeliers to work the wine tasting tent with him. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to taste more than 100 wines from around the world. Garrett Oliver, a brewmaster at Brooklyn Brewery is on hand to curate GoogaMooga's beer pavillion, which will feature selections from more than 30 domestic and international craft breweries.
As of right now, the lineup of musical artists playing at GoogaMooga is yet to be announced, and tickets for the festival have yet to go on sale.
