Millie's Diner's Devil's Mess is a thick, open-faced omelette loaded with spicy sausage, onions, green peppers, garlic, and tomatoes, topped with mild curry, melted white Cheddar cheese, and avocado. While this is their signature (and outrageously filling) dish, Millie's also serves different renditions of the Devil's Mess such as the Cuban-inspired "Castro's mess," the "Cajun mess," and the "veggie mess" for all the vegetarians out there.

19) Oysters Benedict — Brennan’s, New Orleans

What better place to go for oysters Benedict than Brennan's, the authentic New Orleans restaurant known for essentially inventing brunch as we know it. Topped with smooth, thick swirls of cream cheese icing and powdered sugar, these pancakes make for a very sweet and filling main course.

17) Captain Crunch French Toast — Blue Moon Café, Baltimore

Although this rendition of French toast is not actually written on the brunch menu, Blue Moon Café's Captain Crunch-crusted French toast can be ordered at any time. The Captain Crunch crust gives the French toast a little something extra, and when topped with fresh fruit and cream it's definitely a unique way to bring back your favorite childhood cereal.

16) Chocolate Chunk Bacon Waffles — Benjy’s, Houston

What are three foods that all Americans undoubtedly love? Chocolate, bacon, and waffles. Benjy's decided to please us all when they mixed all three together in their chocolate chunk bacon waffles at their Washington location. You may think these waffles would be conventionally mixed with chocolate chips and topped with bacon, but it is quite the opposite. Instead, they are infused with bacon chunks and topped with melted chocolate chips, whipped cream, strawberries, and powdered sugar.

15) Huevos Rancheros — Hell’s Kitchen, Minneapolis

While huevos rancheros is a commonplace dish in the Mexican-American brunch scene, Hell's Kitchen takes this classic to a whole new, enormous level. This massive rendition consists of a 6-inch fried flour tortilla topped with hash browns, scrambled eggs, homemade spicy black beans, ranchero cheese, salsa, sour cream, and your choice of meat. We will be surprised if you come close to finishing it.

14) Reese’s Pieces French Toast — 26 Beach, Venice, Calif.

13) Brunch Dog — Frank’s 'n' Dawgs, Chicago

Although Frank's 'n' Dawgs' brunch dog isn't technically on a brunch menu, it definitely fits the criteria for our outrageous brunch list. Sandwiched in a golden hot dog bun rests a Slagel farms pork loin sausage, topped with bacon, a fried egg, and maple mayo. Considering this hot dog shop opens at 11 a.m., this brunch dog is an easy outrageous alternative to the typical breakfast sandwich.

12) Shredded Oxtail and Banana Pepper Hash — The Grape Restaurant, Dallas

Instead of serving eggs with bacon, The Grape Restaurant spices it up by serving two poached eggs with tender shredded oxtail instead. Served with banana pepper hash, potatoes, toast, and tied together with a red wine demi-glace, this untraditional meat dish is definitely a hearty way to start your day.

11) Grilled Quail and Texas Venison Sausage — Red Drum, Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Red Drum's grilled quail and venison sausage is an off-the-wall brunch dish for the devout meat eater. With grilled South Carolina quail and Texas venison sausage in a chile Cheddar grits skillet, this dish makes for an outrageously meaty main course and would probably be best paired with a beer instead of a mimosa.

10) Testina Hash Poutine — Alla Spina, Philadelphia

Testina is Italian for "head," which makes sense considering this dish consists of poutine and pig head topped with mozzarella curds and sunny-side up eggs. Alla Spina, an Italian gastropub in the heart of Philadelphia, stays true to its roots by serving this filling Italian dish on their brunch menu. There's nothing like eggs and pig's head to start off your morning!

9) White Chocolate Macadamia Pancakes — Boots and Kimo’s, Kailua, Hawaii

White chocolate macadamia cookies are a classic dessert, but white chocolate macadamia pancakes are definitely taking this sweet to the extreme. Boots and Kimo's is famous for their pancake version of the delicious cookie: white chocolate macadamia nut pancakes with creamy white chocolate macadamia nut syrup pooled on top. Nothing like a set of chocolate macadamia pancakes before lying out on the beach.

8) Waffle Dogs — Over Easy Café, Phoenix

Why go for waffles and a side of sausage when you can have them both on a stick? Over Easy Café's waffle dogs are straight to the point. This dish comes with three 2-ounce breakfast sausages on sticks dipped in waffle batter and fried until golden brown. These are perfect for when you need one hand for your waffle dog and the other for your mimosa.

7) Fried Chicken Benedict — Highland Bakery, Atlanta

Fried chicken Benedict — when regular eggs Benedict isn't enough. Highland Bakery puts a Southern twist on this classic dish by topping a toasted biscuit with fried chicken, two medium poached eggs, and a jalapeño Cheddar cheese sauce instead of using the regular the English muffin, Canadian bacon, or hollandaise. Oh, and just in case that wasn't enough, it also comes served with grits or potatoes. This dish can only be found at Highland Bakery's Old 4th Ward and Georgia Tech locations.

6) Astor Disaster — Astor Room, Queens, N.Y.

The Astor Room's Astor Disaster is every indecisive brunch-goer's dream. In one dish, diners can get every aspect of breakfast, with eggs, bacon, and French toast, while still getting the most necessary components of a solid lazy Sunday lunch: BBQ shortrib, fried onion rings, and Cheddar cheese. Put it all together, and it looks like one hot brunch mess.

5) Macaroni and Cheese Pancakes — Shopsin’s, New York City

Breakfast + lunch = brunch, so why not make a dish that combines both meals? That's what we think Shopsin's chef and owner Kenny Shopsin tried to do when he decided to add macaroni and cheese pancakes to the brunch menu. While we could consider any of the 800 items on the menu for this list, these pancakes are the epitome of brunch. Forget blueberries or chocolate chips, these are infused and encrusted with macaroni and cheese instead. If that doesn't seem like enough, you can also selections such as BBQ duck sliders, fried chicken, maple bacon, or duck gyros to your meal.

4) Crispy 18-Ounce Indiana Hand-Hammered Pork Tenderloin Benedict — Hash House A Go Go, San Diego, Calif.

Although this dish has the trademark "Benedict" at the end of its name, it is anything but a classic version of eggs Benedict. We guess you could call it one if you're willing to trade in your English muffin for an 18-ounce pork tenderloin, your hollandaise for some BBQ cream sauce, and your poached eggs for scrambled. Either way, Hash House A Go Gos pork tenderloin Benedict is definitely an outrageous alternative to the brunch staple. The giant pork tenderloin Benedict, which also comes with a fresh-split biscuit, market yellow tomato, spinach, and griddled mashed potatoes, will have you in a food coma before you can even say "brunch." This dish is available at all Hash House A Go Go locations.

3) Chocolate Tower French Toast —The Bongo Room, Chicago

1) Foie Gras Brioche French Toast — Norma’s, New York City

Norma's is known for their extravagant brunch menu; they're home to the $1,000 lobster frittata with 10 ounces of caviar heaped on top. While the price is crazy, the concept of the lobster frittata isn't anything new. However, another dish on the menu is much more affordable and completely outrageous — the foie gras brioche French toast. Unlike traditionally sweet French toast, this version is served with asparagus and mushrooms with slices of foie gras sitting on top. Each bite is loaded with richness and could fill you up in an instant. Talk about an outrageously excessive way to start the day.
