21 Best Restaurants In Beijing
Ranking restaurants against one another is never an easy task. No matter if we're searching for the best in a given city, country, or continent, evaluating the nuances across cuisine, value, and ambiance can be challenging. It's not impossible, though.
With an experienced and well-traveled group of expert panelists, we've been able to put the ranking up to a vote and mathematically determine the best within a set of defined criteria including cuisine, overall value, and style/décor/service. We recently did this while compiling a list of the 101 Best Restaurants in Asia, which ultimately included addresses across 25 cities and 11 countries.

The city with the most restaurants on our list was Beijing. It's home to 21 of the 28 restaurants from China that made the cut and, although it didn't take the number one spot according to our ranking, it came close with Duck de Chine landing at number two. The restaurant remains one of the culinary highlights of the city, which is not only noteworthy for its Chinese offerings, but also for its top quality sushi, Thai, and Vietnamese establishments. It's also a center for first-rate French, Italian, Spanish, and other international cuisines.
Just because these restaurants are the best, though, don't assume that they're all out of reach of your wallet. We've included renowned high-end options like Green T. House, alongside more casual joints like Noodle Loft. While some of these restaurants are owned and operated by master Chinese chefs and restaurateurs, some of the best are also the projects of foreign restaurant owners, including Belgian-born Ignace Lecleir, who is responsible for the respected Temple Restaurant.
