After all, no matter how much you prepare ahead of time for the big feast, there's always something important you forget that you remember at the last minute (a.k.a. Thanksgiving morning). And if you find yourself without butter for, well, every dish or if you need a last-minute dessert for a crowd, you'll be making a rushed trip to the store.
One of the best places to buy in bulk is Costco. Plus, the wholesale warehouse is famous for its massive pumpkin pies around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It can be tempting to put off some of that last-minute shopping for lower priority items, knowing that they can quickly be picked up at Costco on a normal day. But, Thanksgiving Day is no normal shopping day.

As much as Costco shoppers might wish the massive retailer was open 365 days a year, it isn't. According to Costco's website, it closes its U.S. warehouses for seven holidays throughout the year — including Thanksgiving Day. The other holidays that Costco is closed are New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Christmas Day. That said, you'll be able to go to Costco the day before Thanksgiving (if you plan ahead) or, of course, the day after on Black Friday (if you want to risk it).
Of course, you'll have options during Thanksgiving week to prepare for any holiday cooking. While the retailer will be open every day except Thanksgiving Day itself, the hours of operation will depend on which Costco store you plan to visit. "There may be slight variations in hours for each warehouse," Costco explains on its website. If you want to find the hours of the Costco location nearest to you this holiday season, you can search for any location via the "find a warehouse" feature online.
